The other side of the Grass:

This blog of mine is inspired by my awesome story teller aunt Sumita..Her narration moved me completely from head to toe.

Let me begin the story of a beautiful and elegant 24 year old Meera who is travelling in a train with her Mom from a small town to a big city with lots of hopes, dreams and excitement. She is a cheerful, happy and soulful person...very bright and radiant..her smile is like a bright day, brings joy to anyone...

People in that train noticed her and got a very positive vibe from her..She got the window seat and she is very excited for her trip..As the train started she shouted with excitement and told her mom.."Mom see the train is running so fast...leaving the station behind."Her mom replied to her " Ya...it is"and asked her not to be so excited as she noticed that other people felt wierd and started looking at Meera..

As time passed,Meera got more excited and asked many question to her mom like"Mom see the clouds...Its so beautiful...Mom the trees are so big..Mom is that a Mountain?"The people travelling with her initially left that she was very immature as compared to her age but later felt that she was very weird and her entire perception of charming person was turning to a disgusting person now...However Meera was not bothered by anyone's behaviour or by their expression or vibes...She was in her own world...She then saw different vendors getting in the train and preparing snacks..she was excited to see how the vendors were making it..and started asking several question to her Mom again...This time a lady sitting in front of them and experiencing everything couldn't hold herself, she whispered softly to her husband and seemed to be very curious .Other people watching Meera started gossiping about her and making fun of her..Meera's mom was not very happy and asked Meera not to be so excited and they will speak in details when they reach their destination..

Finally the lady broke her silence and asked Meera 's mom "From Which age is behaving like this? What is exactly wrong with her?"This time Meera was surprised and she became quite..The lady continued by further saying that "I knw a doctor who can help her is getting cure, your daughter is a charming girl but I wish she behaves normal someday soon."

Meera's mom looked at her and smiled. She said Meera"This is why ..I was asking you to be quite my girl."She told the lady I knw you and the other people noticing us feels Meera is not normal..Actually SHE WAS BLIND..few days back she had her operation after that she is travelling for the 1st time..She never saw so many things together in her life...She never saw so many colours before...The lady and the other passengers were shocked and silent after listening to Meera's mom.

MORAL: Please don't judge the book by it's covered..Before making any assumptions or any comments atleast know the truth and the other side..Your words can break someone completely..

HOPE NEXT TIME YOU WILL KNOW BOTH THE SIDES AND THEN JUDGE OR SHARE YOUR OPINION...

  1. Narrator here reveals with a real good example of how a person views the outside world. We also in general fail to look at or perceive the world or other people. Great way of showcasing how most of us just jump on quickly to make assumptions for granted :-)
